Swelling In Ankle. Got Relief From Support Hose. Which Specialist Will Help?
I have one ankle that swells. I get relief from support hose but would like to know if anyone can diagnose this and give me relief. What sort of doctor might help. I've seen a vascular dr. And had a test for blood clots. Negative. His answer was the stocking. I've been told cardiologist or acupuncture or massage therapy.
Thanks for query on HCM. Unilateral ankle swelling usually due to some local cause called ankle sprain. It might be due to extra weigh bearing on it,improper position during exercise, sports activity, climbing stairs. Apply elasto plast 4 inch ( stretchable bandage) on ankle during movement. Avoid weight bearing on it.try to keep that leg raised as much as possible, even put pillow under the leg. Start nsaid with serretiopeptidase. Otherwise go for x-ray and start treatment under guidance of orthopedician.
