Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Excruciating pain due to mild exertion ( walking) means there is fracture in bone of foot.
In bruise only mild degree pain occurs.
Consult an orthopaedician and get in X ray of injured part and take treatment as advised by doctor.
Hope I have answered your question.
If further any question I will help.
Good luck.
