Swelling In Knee, Painful. Using Bengay. Is It Arthritis?

I have been having pains on my swollen knee for a month now. I noticed I have cracking sounds on my knees and ankle joints for a a while. I noticed that I started having the pain and swollen knee when I was lifting some having stuff up the stairs of my apartment. Haven't been to a doctor yet but the pain is getting worse and I cannot walk properly. I seem to be dragging my left foot when I walk. Not taking any pain killers. I have been rubbing it with bengay and now I just give up. I have told by some friends that I might have athiritis. Now I want to go to a specialist for athiritis. So I am looking for the right doctor.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The symptoms that you have described are likely to be due to osteoarthritis. You can take mild pain killers and joint lubricant supplements like glucosamine sulphate to decrease the crackling noise.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
