Swelling On The Calf Of One Leg, Warm To Touch. Taken Flucloxacillin, Tenderness Present. Permanent Cure?

My son had a swelling on the calf of one leg, a few weeks ago. It was about 1 and a half inches in area and was warm to the touch. He went to A&E and was assured it was not DVT . The nurse thought it was coming as a result of an infection and he was prescribed 7 days Flucloxacillin 500mg 4 times daily. The initial swelling has gone but it appears to have spread out a bit and is still tender.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Dear Sir
It seems your son has developed Cellulitis.
It is tender swelling , warm to touch , the area is inflammed.
This usually results from infection.
It needs a proper management , to avoid serious complications.

I personally prefer to use Cloxacillin , Augmentin , Clindamycin antibiotics. Also , i add a drug for anti inflammatory action like Zynase-D , these combinations have Diclofenac and serritiopeptidase.
I would advice you to discuss my opinion with your doctor , i am sure he / she will agree.
Other option is that you may send us the photograph of that area , we would help you for definitive diagnosis.

Hope he gets well soon.
