Swelling, Redness Around Cut Finger. Should I Keep It Splinted?

Hi,

I cut into my knuckle quite deeply 2 weeks ago. The cut has almost healed but I have swelling in the whole finger and slight redness around the cut. It isn't hot so I don't think there is an infection, and there are no red lines under the skin.

Im not sure whether I should be using my finger or keep it splinted? I can straighten it and bend it to about 3/4 to a fist before it pulls across the knuckle and becomes uncomfortable. I haven't had this type of injury before so don't know if this is normal.

Many thanks.

hello,
As the injury is too deep it will take some time for you to come back to normal. If there is more pain in small movements too then its better to keep it splinted but dont keep it like that as it may stiffen your finger.Small exercises are necessary.Try to avoid water contact to that area.Take tab.chymoral forte two times a day for 3 days for the swelling to be reduced.Thank you.
