Swelling, Sharp Pain, Bursting Open Leaking Yellow Fluid In Lower Leg Where Hardware Is Put Due To Broken Leg. Advice

I have broken my leg 5 years ago and have hardware put into my lower leg (plate) and where I broke it is swollen having sharp pains to where I cant actually walk and now its busting open and leaking yellowish fluids im not sure what is going on I have been to hospital numerous times but now symptoms are getting worse and I can not get a orthopedic surgeon without insurance what should I do?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since , you haven't mentioned whether plate is still in the leg or removed.
If still get it remove at once as this is source of infection.
You have developed osteomyelitis ( Chronic )in the leg .
Yellowish material is most probably slough , forms due to infection.
In my opinion most sensitive antibiotics with local antiseptic dressing may give you relief.
However the best treatment is consultation of an Orthopaedician and his help.
