Swollen Abdomen. Recovering From Alcohol Addiction. Worried About Cirrhosis

My abdomen is swollen beyond my rib cage as if I was 5 months pregnant - this is impossible because I went through menopause 10 years ago. I do not have any pain and it is not hard when I press down on it. Since I am a recovering alcoholic I am concerned about cirrhosis! I also wondered about candida. Please r.s.v.p.

Thank you very much for your input.

Hi,

If the bloating is gaseous then there is no need to worry as it will subside.

If the bloating is heavy then you may have to get a USG scan done to rule out collection of fluid (ascitis).

Regards,
