Swollen Gum On The Front Teeth, Increasing In Size. Have A Set Of Braces Put In. Cause?
My gum is swollen in the front of my two top front teeth and is is also swollen behind. I have had it for 2 weeks and thought it should be gone by now. It started growing a little after i got my 4th set of braces and they put a double chain on my teeth. I don t know if this is from the braces or something but i really need to know.

swollen gums past 2 weeks states that you are suffering form chronic gingivitis(inflammation of gums),
this usually occurs after getting the braces but is not the cause of it.
gingivitis occurs as a results of poor oral hygiene, as we all know braces make it difficult to clean the teeth from all surfaces, therefore increased plaque deposition causes infection followed by gingivitis, it is nothing to worry about, i would recommend you to undergo full mouth scaling, as well as use interdental brushes along with mouthwash, to keep your mouth healthy.

You are experiencing swelling most likely due to the pressure of the chain pushing the teeth together. Also you probably have limited ability for hygiene due to the chain on your teeth. However, other pathologies occur in the gums and it would be best to go to a dentist to be evaluated for something like a giant cell granuloma or pyogenic granuloma. Some dental pathologies need urgent care and evaluation. Floss up and down not back and forth. Swish with Listerine and see if it resolves in a few days. If not go to your dentist.

use orthodontic toothbrush to clean your teeth.
chlorhexidine mouthrinses can be used to prevent plaque accumulation.
take tab.doxycycline-100 mg,once daily for 7 days to make your gums intact,firm and resilient again.

As you are wearing Braces for orthodontic treatment, gums becoming swollen is common if proper oral hygiene is not maintained.
Ask you orthodontist to prescribe or dispense any good orthodontic tooth brush along with proper method of using it.
Getting your teeth cleaned by dentist would also help a lot instead of using any drugs like antibiotics.
One important thing is to get an x-ray done, as it will show if there is any underlying pathology related to tooth or periodontium related to it so as to get treatment accordingly.
Use of mouthwash prescribed by your dentist for a short period will also help you.
Remember, in orthodontic treatment, patient's role in keeping cleanliness to optimum level is of utmost importance. Always wash your teeth even with gargles after eating food, avoid sticky food stuff as they are difficult to get cleaned once they stick to braces thereby gums become more prone to inflammation & swelling.
