Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.
The swollen gums and white stuff coming out may be due to-

abscess developed from dental caries/periodontal infection/impacted wisdom teeth/traumatic injury.
a thorough clinical and x-ray examination will help to rule out the cause.
Meanwhile,maintain good oral hygiene.
get your teeth cleaned by a dentist.
The decayed teeth has to be restored/root canal treated.
tHe impacted/fractured teeth if present, has to be treated.
the pus has to be drained and curetted.
hope this helps

HI,

Thanks for asking the query,

Swollen gums can be because of several reasons like plague calculus deposition , inflammation , use of certain drugs , systemic conditions like puberty , vitamin C deficiency , underlying osseous and dental lesions .

I would advice you to get complete oral examination done .
Take an OPG x-ray.

At home use saline water gargles .
Use 0.2% of chlorhexidine mouthwash gargles twice daily .

Maintain a good oral hygiene .
Brush twice daily with a soft bristle toothbrush .

Apply metrogyl oral ointment topically over the affected area

Regards..

DEAR FRIEND.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

Swelling, pus, pain are features of infection.so you have developed infection behind your two bottom teeth.

when you push on it the white stuff which comes out is pus.(which has numerous bacteria, their debris and bacterial products). It is infective.

you history says that you maintain good oral hygiene by brushing, flossing and using mouthwash. That is really nice, but these measure that you are following comes under maintainence therapy.

If already there is some infection established, then that should be cured first after that definitely maintainence of hygiene will help you lot.

Therefore i would suggest to visit your dentist for clinical evaluation and as there has been deep pocket developed ,it should be treated by deep pocket curettage and root planing procedures.

Maintainence of good oral hygiene will keep your oral cavity healthy.

Hope i have answered your query.

Thanks.

Dentist Dr. Neha Sumra's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

Swollen gums & pus discharge occurs due to some infection in gums or some decay in tooth.

You need to get proper diagnosis done to rule out whether problem is periodontal or due to some carious tooth.

You also need to maintain proper oral hygiene.
Treat the decayed & carious tooth.
Take medications as prescribed by your dentist.

Take Care

Hello,
I am Dr.Neha Gupta (dentist) and am glad to address to your query here.

Gum disease is usually preventable. Just take care of your teeth starting now - don't wait!
•Brush twice a day for at least 3 minutes each time and floss daily. If you're not sure whether you're brushing or flossing properly.
•Always brush with toothpaste that contains fluoride. Daily mouth rinses containing fluoride are also recommended.
•Use a toothbrush with soft, polished bristles, as these are less likely to irritate or injure gum tissue. Be sure to replace your toothbrush at least every 3 to 4 months - a worn-out toothbrush can injure your gums.
•Eat a healthy diet - avoid snacks and junk foods packed with sugar that plaque-causing bacteria love to feed on.
•Don't smoke! Cigarettes and chewing tobacco cause mouth irritation and are very unhealthy for gums and teeth.

Take care and please keep me informed of your progress at healthcaremagic through my profile directly.
Regards
