Hello, Thanks in advance for answering my question. I am a 57 year old female. A foot doctor told me I had slight bunions, some arthritic changes, Morton s neuroma at the 3rd interspace and flexible flat feet . I ve always loved walking and I started to do sprints. I didn t feel I overdid it, but during one session I felt myself starting to slip and pivoted quickly. My knees felt fine at the time, with a bit of swelling that night. TWO DAYS LATER they became very swollen. I stayed off my feet for quite awhile. Now, 12 weeks later, I still have a burning sensation below the left knee cap even at rest which seems to radiate to the outside (lateral?). There is still some swelling there. On a scale of 1 to 10, I feel pain at the level of 1 or 2 at all times unless I put my foot down at an angle, then I may feel level 3 pain at the inside (medial?). I have occasional, slight tingling sensation. I hear / feel slapping sounds when I walk. (It seems the slapping is less the longer I walk.) I sometimes can t tell whether the slapping sound is coming from my ankle or the knee or my hip. I ve had pain and a tugging sensation at my left hip for a decade. The left knee felt unstable on a couple of occasions and locked on two occasions, but not recently. The right knee is a little off but not as bad as the left. Do you have any insights into what this could be?
