Swollen Lymph After Partial Thyroidectomy Can Be Due To Infection?

In September 2013 my 23yrs daughter has a partial thyroidectomy, four days ago she developed a swollen lymph on the side that still has the partial thyroid..Now as of today she has developed 3 ..3cm nodules on the back of her head and back of neck is hurting. ..Should this be an emergency, type infection?

I can understand your concern.

She has enlarged lymphnode. It can be due to reactive hyperplasia, tuberculosis, lymphoma or metastatic carcinoma. She should go for fine needle aspiration cytology study. It will give you exact diagnosis. Then plan treatment accordingly.
