Swollen Thighs, Knee And Calves After Stopping Birth Control. No Relief From Diuretics. Advice
I have swollen thighs, knee area and calves after stopping birth control-I only took it for 7 months, but stopped and started a few times-which probably wasn't good...I went to the doctor who gave me diuretics, but they really aren't working...he told me I had to "tough it out"-how long do you think this swelling will continue? It is annoying and pretty bad-esp. when I stand....I have been off the pill for three weeks now, this swelling started about 2 weeks after I quite...Thanks

oc pill usage can cause a prothrombotic state i.e it can cause increased clotting of
blood anywhere.
if u r having persisting pedal edema inspite of diuretic usage ,u need to undergo
certain investigations like doppler of both lower limbs and ultrasound of abdomen
to rule out hepatic vein thrombosis.
do u hav any abdominal swelling ?
