Symptoms Of Flu, Vomiting And Diarrhea, Excessive Gas In Stomach And Bowels. Taking Amoxicillin For Infected Tooth. Advice
I have been treating an infected tooth with amoxicyln for 4.5 days and saturday night into Sunday experienced flu like symptoms, vomiting and diahrea. I'm mostly recovered from any tooth pain, tenderness, or swelling of the gums but am now left with excessive gas in my stomach and intestines/bowels. if this is from the bacterial infection, should I be doing anything additional to treat the abdominal symptoms? Yogurt, ingestion meds...? Or will the Antibiotics take care of it in another day or so?

Gastrointestinal discomfort is one of the common undesirable effect of antibiotics. Though amoxicillin causes less abdominal discomfort than ampicillin but still it does cause mild discomfort to frank diarrhea. You will get better once you stop the antibiotics after completion of full course. Probiotics like yoghurt and lactobacillus preparation help to prevent diarrhea. No need take other antibiotic for this. If abdominal discomfort is troubling you terribly then you need to change or stop antibiotic after consultation with your treating doctor
