Symptoms Of Thyroidism, Highly Obese. TSH, T3, T4 Levels Normal. Suggest

My son aged 25 years, is highly obese. I tried my best for his cure, saw many doctors. His TSH, T4, T3 levels are normal, but he has most of the symptoms of thyroidism. My sister is a patient of hypothyroidism. Even I have the symptoms, but the tests are normal in my case too. I am not very sure, but my grand mother used to say that some body feed her lead in the paan, so she lost her beautiful voice. My mother and I was too good singers, but with times, our voice become heavy, and now we can not sing. may be they have pther symptoms too, but I dont know about that. I recently read a book by doctor Ken Blanchard about hypothyroidism, and I think, we are misdiagnosed cases of thyroid. We want a doctor, who has patience to hear our problems calmly and sympathetically. Now I am taking tryptomer 10mg, tapomac 25mg, remlyn D, and tayo k for my headach, depression and other problems. please help.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Low levels of thyroid hormone can cause weight gain.

The thyroid gland is responsible for producing the thyroid hormones. They are stimulated to do this by TSH.
When a person has hypothyroidism the thyroid hormones levels are low and the TSH is high.

You can consider visiting an endocrinologist who would specialise in this area for assessment. Your tests would be repeated to determine if there is any abnormality.

It can be difficult to lose weight. To lose weight requires that the energy that you put into your body (food and drink) is less than the energy you put out (activity and exercise).

Low carb diets are said to have a metabolic advantage , this means they may have an advantage over low fat/low calorie diets.
You can consider looking into this diet plan to see if it is something that you and your family will be able to do.

I hope this helps
