For mild SLE low dose steroids are required. But for severe form high doses are required (5- 60mg). You are experiencing side effects of prednisolone. Immunomodulators can be used .Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS) are immunomodulatory agents that act as immunosuppressives and cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory medications. It includes methotrexate, cyclophosphamide and azathioprine.
