Take BP Medicines Every Day. On Cardizem, Metoprol. Now Feel Dizzy. Pressure Seems High. Problem?
I am 63 year old female. I take 2 blood pressure medicines every day. Cardizem 180 mg in am; Metoprol 50 mg at night. All day today I have felt dizzy when I get up from a chair or whatever. I took my blood pressure 15 minutes ago and it was 158/88 - pulse 63. Do I need to be concerned? I just took Toprol hoping that will turn my BP around.
Hello. Drugs you are taking decreases blood pressure and heart rate. Sometimes decrease is excessive and added to other factors (heat and sweat, low intake liquid) can cause dizziness. However, the numbers 158/88( blood pressure)and 63(heart rate) , it means only slight elevation of blood pressure, heart rate is normal. No reason to be concerned.Go to your doctor to control and also evaluate other causes of dizziness. I wish you good health.
