Take Medication For ADHD,depression. Get Hot And Sweaty Easily. Is It Due To The Medicine Or The Soap Used?

I take medication for ADHD,depression and high blood pressure, I feel fine thanks to the meds.
Problem is I get hot and sweaty easily and my sweat is sticky and very uncomfortable, I think this may be due to the meds that I need to take or may be its the soap I use?

During the summer the humidity is almost unbearable, constantly wiping off with wet towels.

I'm 6'2" and 275 lbs. a bit over weight but I'm large framed-58" shoulders x athlete with a bear gut. When I weighed less a few years ago I still sweat and was sticky so I don't think it's about the weight.

I use Ivory soap because it cuts through the sticky sweat and leaves my skin dry the way I like it, I read that it may not be the way to go and may be I should use a moisturizing soap but I don't like the oily feeling after.

Please advise, thanks.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
welcome to Healthcare Magic.

In history you did not mention about the medicines being used for ADHD, depression and high blood pressure. You may need to check side effects of each individual medicines, as cause for sticky/excessive sweating.

Anxiety also leads to increase sweating and anxiety symptoms are common in depression. It is better to get yourself reevaluated by your psychiatrist for presence of anxiety symptoms. Also get your thyroid profile done as its abnormality also leads to change in sweating pattern.

Before changing soap it is better to work on above measures, to find and treat cause of excessive/sticky sweating.

Wish you good health and all the best.
