Taken Antibiotics For Colitis. Have Redness And Itching From Thighs To Ankle. Taken Atarax. Help

I was in hosp. with colitis .85% of my colon was infected and bleeding . They gave me what they called broad spectrum antibiotics. 14 days antibiotic then 5 days iv steroid. . MY infection went away and my swelling was almost gone in my colon . Now going crazy itching,very red from top of thighs to ankle . small red spot under right arm .. i have been soakijng oat meal bathhs and taking benydril .the area started looking worse especially around my anklie swelling , been keeping them propped up with pillow cool water help . my Dr look again prescribed Atarax Hydroxy-zine HCL 50 mg.tab nor. started taking them on the July 9th . can't stand it . help how long does this last and is there anything else I can do please help Jo Ann Woodard Choctaw Beasch Fl. :( broke

Hi, it appears to be due to allergy to some foods or to the by products of the repair of the colon.
I to my patient with such allergy the levocitrizine, and montelicast, to minimise the allergy. triamcilolone injection also can help to a large extent. thank you.
