hi doctor. i want to ask about pill contraceptive. last may 2013, i used yasmin and becoz i had severe headache my ob told me to switch daphne on june 3 becoz i had periods. i took the pill but in the middle of the pack i didnt notice that i took the placebo pills and i continue took the pill until finish. i had periods again on july 1 and at the same time, i had periods but reached 10 days. my normal mentrual cycle is 5days.. me and my hubby had contacts until july 14. and after one week i stopped taking pills. supposed to be my period would be on august 1. but it didnt came. could i be pregnant? coz i am four days delayed. i used several urine pregnancy tests but still negative. thanks for answering.

Hello ma'am.

It seems as though you have never had an irregular menstrual cycle prior to this. In such a scenario there could be two possibilities for a delay in your period:
-Contraception: usually has a side effect of delay or irregular menstrual cycle
-Pregnancy: will have to be ruled out with an early morning urine sample used for a home urine pregnancy test. Please repeat the test 2-3 times with a gap of at least a day between each test to get a confirmed result.
