Hello, It is definitely possible to keep your diabetes in control with diet and exercises for sometime but not forever. Diabetes is a progressive disease and with passage of time beta cells of pancreas get destroyed. These beta cells are responsible for production of insulin which helps in controlling your blood sugar levels. Keep your fasting levels around 100 and PP levels around 160. If your levels are high then you must take some oral antidiabetic as tight control of blood sugar levels helps in avoiding future micro as well as macro vascular complications. You may start with METFORMIN ,as this will not cause any hypoglycemia to you. Keep a tight control of your blood pressure as well as serum iPod profile also. Thanks
It is good that you have your sugars under control. Yes, diet and exercise can help reduce your blood sugars and it is advisbale to continue them. It is also important that any underlying infection should be corrected as this can also push up your sugar levels. It is alarming to have a weight loss of 7 kgs in a month. you should discuss this with your doctor who can check if there s no other problem which may be causing this.
