Taking Lisinopril. BP Gone Low. Side Effects Of Medication?

I am 44 just started Lisinopril 8 days ago. Tomorrow will be day one of week 3 of my menstrual cycle.I was "normal" the first week, lightened up then got very heavy this weekend. My BP has come down since starting this new medication. I really have no other health problems. I started on time this month. Last month was 10 days late but the duration was normal. I did do a pregnancy test just in case. Negative. Could the new medication be causing this?? I am under a BUNCH of stress. My husband took a new job that keeps him on the road all the time and I started a new job 3 days after he left.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to the HCM,
You have been detected to have high blood pressure and started medicine for it you have not mentioned, what was your Blood pressure when it was given and what is the reading now.
This drug causes drop in blood pressure and if blood pressure is low then it is excessive pharmacologic effect and you need to reduce the dose after consulting your Physician.
Lisinopril is not known to cause menstrual irregularity your irregularity may be related to stress which you are facing.Your pregnancy test is negative.
The common side effects include Difficulty swallowing or breathing (signs of angioedema), allergic reaction,Chest pain or tightness, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting ,Dry cough and Drowsiness, headache, tiredness.
Please visit your Physician and get checked your blood pressure and if required your medicine dose may be reduced.
Please take care
Good Luck
