Taking Microgestin, On Placebo Week. Period Having Pasty Texture. Reason For This Kind Of Discharge?
Hi! I am a 26 year old, married female and have been on Microgestin for about 5 months. I am currently on the placebo week, and have been for about 3 days now. My 'period' discharge has been either nonexistent or almost black and a very pasty texture. I have never seen this texture before. My normal period is usually very red, mucous-y and heavy. Now I am not discharging anything at all. I am mainly concerned about the pasty, tar-like texture. Any thoughts on this? Not experiencing abdominal pain, just VERY light cramping (normally experience more painful cramps than this).
I am so sorry to hear about this change in the consistency of your menstrual flow. I understand how disturbing this is but they are changes that can be noted at times. Since this is the very first time, i will advice you not to get worried by this. Treat it just like normal menses because most of them have no real cause and we have no explanation for. However,if it should become recurrent, then we shall investigate to see if there are any other possible causes. Most of them happen once and rarely do they repeat themselves.
Be relaxed, this will most likely not happen next month. It is also in no way related to the pills.
