Taking Valtrex For Shingles, Swelling On Both Cheeks, Corner Of Both Eyes. How Long It Will Last?

I am taking Valtrex for shingles and have swelling on both upper cheeks and in the corner of both eyes. how long will this last. have been on it for 5 days and the doctor had me refill for another 7 days. the shingles is scabbed and not burning anymore. should I discontinue meds. cannot live looking like a monster for another 7 days if not necessary

Hi There,
Shingle is Herpes Zoster and these lesions can be very painful. I suggest you continue the medications for another 7 days even if they are not burning anymore as they can reappear if medication discontinued. They can become painful again. Thanks.
