Taking Xanax, Ambien, Citalopram, Buspirone. Excessive Sleeping, Foaming At Mouth, Overweight. Need For Concern?
My mom was prescribed Xanax, Ambien, Citolopram, and Buspirone. I'm concerned about her. She sleeps all day. She is majorly overweight, and i believe she has sleep apnea but she has not been officially diagnosed with it. She is foaming at the mouth when she sleeps. She apparently is taking those medications because she has panic attacks and depression. Here are my questions, should all of those prescriptions be taken together? and should i be concerned about the foaming at the mouth?
Hi your mom is suffering from panic attacks with Depression. I think your guess is correct and she is having sleep apnea. That probably is the reason she sleeps during day time and froathing at mouth can be explained. But you must get the diagnosis of sleep apnoea confirmed by polysomnography and adequate treatment started as it can be dangerous to heart as well as causes excessive sleepiness. The medicines can be taken together with food Good Luck DR SAATIISH JHUNTRRAA
