Taking Xeloda. Have Sore Ankle, Limping. Side Effects?

On my second round of Xeloda. Shortly after starting I developed a sore ankle - like I twisted it or something. Not extremely painful but causes me to limp a little. Just wonder if this is from the cancer spreading to my bones. or a side effect of the med. Seems to linger on for longer than twisting would. I don't recall hurting it

Hi

It can be an ankle sprain that is taking a long time to heal due to diminished healing process. It can also be other possibility like side-effect of the medicine, gout, etc. Tests like uric acid levels, creatine kinase levels, ultrasound and MRI can help in coming to a diagnosis. Talk to your doctor before you take pain-killers for the condition as it has some reaction with Xeloda.
