Taking Citalopram. Delayed Periods, Sore Breasts And Metallic Taste In Mouth. Can This Medication Cause Amenorrhea?

Hello, I have recently started taking 20mg of Citalopram but since the I have not had my period. I am 9 days late (usually come on lie clockwork), I have sore breasts and cervical feinting as well as a metallic taste in the mouth. I have taken hpts repeatedly all with a negative result. After EXTENSIVE research I have come across an enormous amout of anecdotal reports of missed periods, light periods and full on amenorrhea. I have also come across information from the FDA stating that Citalopram can cause amenorrhea and elevated prolactin levels. Are there any studies to support this and if so WHY are these symptoms not listed in the side effects information included in the medication box. And WHY do so many of the anecdotal reports tha I have read report that their respective doctors have been so dismissive of this issue. It seems unconscionable to allow women who are already anxious, panicky or depressed be terrified that they are pregnant when they are not., particularly as many women would prefer not to be taking medication if they are pregnant.
