Taking Risperidone, Rolling Eyes After Increase In Dosage. Side Effect Or Allergy?
My son recently started risperidone, originally on 0.5mg with no problems-then after approximately a week on the 1mg dosage-he started rolling his eyes. No other symptoms. Could this be a side effect of the medication, or do you think this is just an allergy. He says he is aware that he is doing it, but I don't think he is aware of how often he is. Watching him, he does it several times per minute.
Hello: Nystagmus (Eye movements - uncontrollable) has been reported among people who take Risperdal, as well as other antypshychotic medications. If the dose has been increased recently, it is possible that he need a dose re-adjustment, and you should consult the prescribing physician as soon as possible to re-evaluate this situation.
