Teen Taking Prednisolone 2.5mg Bd For CAH, Forgot To Take. Is It Ok To Take A Double Dose The Next Morning?

hi, my 14 year old daughter is taking prednisolone 2.5mg bd, for CAH. She told me this morning that she has been forgetting to take her medication some days. If she forgets in the evening, is it ok to take a double dose the next mjorning? Should I be concerned? Thankyou, Jenny.

Hi Jenny ! Good aftenoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

No- She is not required to take double dose of the medicine if she skipped the dose mistakenly once. However, she should try not to miss her dose, as it will not be possible to maintain a particular level of hormone concentration all through out. She is a grown up girl, and I am sure she will take steps for this.
