Teenager. On Adipex To Lose Weight Causing Lightheadedness, Shortness Of Breath. Continue?

Hello, I'm an 18 year old female. I started taking adipex to help me lose weight. My current weight is 230. It works, but it makes me lightheaded, and I experienced shortness of breath, and it scared me so I stopped taking them. I would like to start taking them again, are these side effects serious? Will they go away over time, can I continue taking adipex?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Adipex or phentermine is one of the older medications that is commonly used for weight loss.It works by suppressing the appetite.

All medications, including this one, have potential side effects. It can be associated with dizziness/light headed sensation in some persons.
If the effects are not bothersome or severe , you can continue the medication.

If you are unable to tolerate the effects then you can consider asking your doctor for an alternative weight loss medication.

I hope this helps

Hello,
Dizziness, dryness of mouth, difficulty in sleeping, irritability, trouble in breathing are common side effects of use of PHENTERMINE ( ADIPEX ).
If the drug makes you dizzy and there is trouble in your breathing on taking this medicine, then it is better to stop this medicine.
Try to loose weight by adopting healthy lifestyle which includes proper dietary control and regular exercises.
Thanks
