Teenager. Swollen Tonsils On Right Side, Mild Fever. Taking Ibuprofen, Warm Compress. Any Over The Counter Medication?
Hello, thanks for using health care magic The most common cause of swollen tonsils is a bacterial infection. Bacterial tonsilitis typically manifests with fever and treatment requires antibiotics therapy. The good thing is that simple antibiotics such as amoxicilline or erythromycin would do but unfortunately, the antibiotics would need to be prescribed by a doctor. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and would not treat a bacterial infection. Best regards Dr Achuo
