Thyroid Removed Due To Hosimoto's Disease. Experiencing Leg And Thigh Cramps So Should I Check Thyroid?
Good evening. I am 65, was diagnosed with Hosimoto's disease in 1976, had my thyroid removed as a result a growth. I am taking medication, which I have been on since 1976, but am noting that I am cold most of the time, more so than is normal for me, who historically disliked summer and heat. I am also experiencing leg and thigh cramps while sitting, while sleeping. Is it time to have my thyroid checked again?
Dear sir/madam, ya definetely u need to check your thyroide profile. By your description it looks like you are having low thyroid hormones ( hypothyroidism). U might be already taking thyroxine but it might be not sufficient enough. Better to get blood investigation and consult endocrinologist/physician. Hope u find this informative.
