Tingling In Hand, Pins And Needles In Fingers, Twitching In Index Finger And Forearm. Left Hand Pitcher. Remedy?

Hello. My name is Matt. I am an 18 year old Left-Handed pitcher at the collegiate level, and lately I have been experiencing tingling in my hand and forearm after pitching. It feels like "pins and needles" in my index finger, middle finger, and thumb. I'm not experiencing any elbow pain, although I have had issues with my ulnar nerve in the past. Today I have felt some twitching in my index finger and I can feel it in my forearm at the same time. I pitched yesterday and also lift four times a week. I was wondering what I can do to take this numbness away and pitch through this for the remainder of the Fall season, in hopes of making the team. Also, any tips to finally kick this nagging injury for good would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Matt Mosca

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.

According to your symptoms shoulder pain with tingling in palm can be due to diffuse disc bulge compressing your cervical spine.

I will advice for MRI cervical spine and EMG-NCV [nerve conduction] study.

Till time some medication like methylcobalamine and analgesic will reduce pain, you can take them consulting your treating doctor.
You may consult physiotherapist for guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
