Toe Cramp After Getting Soft Cast. How To Relieve Cramp?

My stepdad just got a soft cast on after getting a plate, six permanent screws and two temporary ones. He has been complaining for a little while now about a cramp in his big toe . His foot has to stay elevated over his heart and he can t take medicine that thins his blood because it apparently slows the healing process in his fibular fracture. Is there any way to relieve this cramp without causing him too much pain?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The cramp ion the toe is likely to be due to an electrolyte imbalance in his body. he can start taking electrolyte rich fluids and fresh fruit juices and vitamin B complex supplements for an improvement. Active movement of the toes will also be helpful.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
