Toes Turning Black, Numbness, No Pain. Earlier Had Ankle Sprain. Advice?

My son just called and told me his toes are turning black. He had an ankle sprain about a week ago. He said he is in no pain, but the toes feel numb to him. He worked all day today with an ankle brace, but he is concerned that he could have a blood clot. He is in the mountains and is very worried. Could you please give me some advice so I can call and tell him. Thank you. YYYY@YYYY

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us,

I have studied your case with diligence.
Foot turning black can be due to loss of blood supply may be due to injury .
I will advise to consult him to orthopaedic surgeon.

You may need to regularly watch wound.
If you see any signs of infection like raised local temperature, pus collection, increase in pain then you should consult your doctor..

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
