Took Topamax For Migraine Headaches. Having Bad Tummy, Dry Mouth, Feeling Sleepy

just started taking Topamax for migraine headaches ,having very bad side effects , very bad pain in tummy , not sleeping , dry mouth , headache today , very sleepy , general feeling of being unwell . will be on this med two weeks tommrow !! oh yeah feel like if I have the flu since taking this med !! just feel dreadful

Hi,
Thanks for using this forum,

This drug Topiramate is used for preventive therapy of migraine and also useful in epilepsy.

If you are having so many side effects and the drug is not tolerated then must report it to treating physician it can be changed to alternative drug.

Dizziness,Weight loss,Paraesthesia,Somnolence,Nausea,Diarrhoea,Fatigue these side effects can occur with this drug may be up to 10% cases.

Unfortunately you are having many so please consult your Neurophysician and get some alternative.: amitriptyline, divalproex, timolol, propranolol .
