Took Penicillin Before Surgery. Stopped Breathing Inside The O.T. Was Told Due To Reaction From The Antibiotic. Opinion?

i have took penicillin all my life an was getting ready for surgery they gave me the dont care meds took me to or room gave me more shots to knock me out as soon as i went out my bp dropped an i stopped breathing dr dont know what happend but said i could have had a reaction from the antibiotic but ive always took them before

thank you for asking this question.
Penicilin is one of the antibiotics causing more side effect than many others.
Hypersensitivity reactions with penicillin are more common and more serious with intravenous therapy, which is used during surgery but have also been reported with oral therapy, but they are more rare.
I belive you might have had a peniciline reaction that you didn't have before because of the intravenous administration.
