Tooth Pulled From Jaw, Red Lump With Pus, On Antibiotics, Lost Weight. Facial Surgery For Abscess Necessary?
Hi, I had a jaw tooth pulled in July, 2013. I lost 20 Lbs. since then and have a red lump with pus in it on my right jaw where the tooth was pulled. I have been on antibiotics since that time. Is it necessary that I have facial surgery where the abcess is. It has gone down quite a bit now. Also, I am allergic to penicillin. What should I do? I have been so sick since having the tooth pulled.
There could be a presence of infection or a broken root piece left in the jaw which is causing infection. Consult to the Dentist and get an x-ray done. Take a course of antibiotics and analgesics. Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.
Hope this helps out,
Regards..
