Transabdominal Findings Suggest Adenomyosis, Small Nabothians With Adjacent Stable Tiny Calcification. Meaning ?

Hi I would like to know what this means TRANSABDOMINAL FINDINGS: Uterus: Anteverted, measuring 7 x 4.1 x 3.6 cm. Myometrium is diffusely heterogeneous with irregular with the junctional suggestive of adenomyosis . TRANSVAGINAL FINDINGS: Endometrial stripe: 5 mm. Small echolucent fluid in the fundal canal. Stable 2 mm subendometrial calcification in the posterior wall. Cervix: Small nabothians with adjacent stable tiny calcifications.

Starting with the possibility of adenomyosis. Adenomyosis is a condition in which the normal inner lining of the uterus called the endometrium, which sheds every month duri g your periods is found in the muscle layers of the uterus. This can cause various other symptoms like pain and bleeding and complications like infertility, adhesions, etc.

Also noted during the ultrasound scans were calcifications. Calcification is the bodys response to any foreign object present within the body. This in most cases is due to the presence of fibroids within the uterus or cervix, which the body recognises as foreign and deposits calcoum around it resulting in its calcification.
