Treated Hair From Lice, Still Have Itchy Head, Bite Marks On Neck, Arm, Back. What Is It?

after treating my daughters hair for lice ( i used rid) we saw a live louse a day later. we retreated the next night with prescription stuff . i have combed through her head for days now. we retreated on thurs that was the 7 day mark. i have still been checking and washing sheets etc. she has still been itching her head. i
she has bites at the ase of her neck . she has bumps on her head. she has a couple bites on her arm and back. i feel like i found 4 more eggs. i have no idea if the bites are lice? i have not seen another bug . i am frustrated

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Firstly use a permethrin 1 % cream just once over scalp for 15 mniutes to treat head louse infestation. Repeat it again after a week for complete treatment.
Head louse can lead to bite marks and due to severe itching can cause erosions.
So after permethrin use, use an antibacterial head wash containig betadine or triclosan or savlon daily. Also she should take oral antihistamine for few days like cetirizine. Apply steroid antibiotic cream two times in a day over lesions on nape of neck.
With in a week, she will be having good response.

Hi lice recurrence is common.u should treat all the contacts at the same time.to prevent recurrences.along with topical medicine use ivermectol 200ug/kg body wt weekly once for two weeks.can cure the condition.rule out any immunocomprimised diseases
