Treatment Apart From Surgery For Vaginal Scarring?

I have severe vaginal scarring due to prolonged trauma from about 3 yrs ago. Now that I am married, I have found intercourse to be extremely painful. My gyn has recommended surgery but my insurance company says that the procedure is cosmetic and won't cover it. I've been trying to use some stretching techniques, but they have been unsuccessful so far. Are there any other options besides surgery?

You may consult a dermatologist who will examine you and discuss any medical treatment available. There are ointments which may take a while to work and might help you.
