Treatment For Infection In Child S Ear Piercing?

My 10 year old daughter had an infection in her ear percing. I applied dettol direct to the piercing hole. The infection seems to have cleared but now there is a horrible discolouration around the piecing and ear lobe. I think it is a burn from the dettol. How do I treat it and should we go to the gp?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to health care magic,

Dettol should never be used in a concentrated form especially in a raw area as it will severely burn the tissues.

You need to immediately consult an ENT specialist who can properly examine the extent of damage and give proper treatment for the same.

Also I would advice you to get ear piercing done by a properly trained ENT so that these complications can be avoided. You cannot put a price on health
