Tripped Over Blackboard, Hand Injury, Bruising, Shooting Pain Below Shoulder Blade, In Knee. Pulled Muscle?
Good afternoon, I tripped over a blackboard that had fallen and I automatically put my hand out to support myself. Even though i had a little bruising to my hand, I am suddenly getting shooting pains below my right shoulder blade, my right knee and and slight tinkling in my right foot . Have I just pulled a muscle somewhere?
Hello,
Fall on an outstretched hand is notorious for causing fractures and sudden muscle injuries. From your symptoms, it is unlikely that you have a fracture since you do not have severe pain in your upper limb or a profound bruising. The shooting pains is probably due to muscle pull occurring during the incident and the tingling is a temporary phenomenon which can occur after trauma. You simply need to take analgesics for the time being and go on to consult a doctor if the pain is aggravated despite taking the medications.
From the complaints you had described you must have sprained the muscles around the shoulder blade and sprain to your knee. Since you are complaining of some shooting pains in the upper and lower limb i advice you to consult orthopedic doctor who can evaluate you and check your cervical spine (Neck).
