Hello jo5200,

Welcome to the forum. It is nice to know that you are healthy and have no other problem than trouble in swallowing. Don't worry, you will get fine. You need to keep yourself hydrated with soups, juice, re-hydrating fluids ( ORS) and pure hygienic water. At 60 many hormonal changes take place in the body. To keep fit take vitamin and mineral dietary supplements after consultation with your doctor.

Saliva often gets thickened as we age. This causes trouble in swallowing. If you keep yourself well-hydrated swallowing will get easier. Vitamin E capsules can do you good. ( hope you do nt have allergy with any medication ).

You can also take food rich in vitamin E like almonds, nuts, peanuts, well cooled spinach, cooked broccoli, wheat breads, olive oil, etc. If you pay heed to your diet regularly and keep yourself well hydrated you will feel better shortly. Exercise, eat well and stay fit and happy.

Have a good day,take care.
