Trouble Swallowing, Whooping Cough, Nasal Congestion. Flunisolide Nasal Solution Used. Treatment?

Suddenly i am having a problem swallowing certain foods and must drink a liquid to digest the food, also i believe that i have contacted whooping caugh and developed nose congestion. A VA MD has perscribed FLUNISOLIDE Nasal Solution spray for congestion. Since 5 days past and no research report from the Dr. I am anxious for some remedies. Can you suggest. Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
You may have common cold (Acute Flu fever) causing sore throat, rhinorrhea (caused by nasal congestion)
And you may secondary bacterial infection causing involvement of tonsils and difficulty in swallowing.
You should consult with physician/ ENT surgeon and get thorough check up of your throat.
You should take antibiotic course, decongestants, antipyretics and anti allergic.
All these conditions are self remitting and takes generally 3-4 days for recovery.
You should also do gargles three times in a day with pinch of salt in one glass of lukewarm water.
