Trying To Conceive, Brown Discharge. Taken Imodium, Gstro Stop, Maxolon Tablets. Negative Pregnancy Tests

My husband and I started trying for a baby when my period had finished. We were travelling overseas and I unfortunately got sick with gastro so I was taking pills like Imodium, gastro stop and maxolon. As week later I had a brown discharge which lasted for a week. I am a week and a half late on my period and a blood and urine tests both show negative.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
Traveler's diarrhea is some what self limiting medicine is seldom required Imodium is not safe drug next time take care, better way in case of diarrhea try lyophilized bacillus or at the most doxycycline can be taken 100 mg once n day. for pregnancy if it is very much compatible then you are definitely going have a bay keep trying and good luck bye.

General & Family Physician Dr. Nsah Bernard's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

If both blood and urine tests show negative, then it is very likely that your lateness is due to another cause other than pregnancy. I recommend you do a pelvic scan, just in case, both lab tests were false.
If you are having gastroenteritis, it may mean that you maybe suffering from some sort of infection which could be coming directly from your gut or maybe from another affected system such as your urinary tract, pelvis organs etc. I will normally would have ran some tests such as CBC, ESR, CRP, urinalysis, widal test, stool exams etc to find out any loci of infection. An infection could have induced absence of menses (through stress mechanism).
So if pregnancy is completely ruled out, you will have to be patient for menses to start again or your doctor may prescribe a drug to induce period and regulate it.

Hope this helps
