Ultrasound Of Thyroid Gland Shows Abnormalities. Taking Synthroid But Have Fatigue And Hair Loss. Is FNB Necessary?
My recent US of thyroid said: Normal size thyroid gland at present. Normal size thyroid gland with heterogenous echotexture and nodules in both lobes. Do I need to follow up with a FNB? Im 62, female on synthroid over 6 years, hx of DCIS 1998. Very tired, hair loss, brittle nails. Working as a Nurse Practitioner. Hoarsness, can not sing like I used to. Some notes can not even do anymore. Thank you

Hoarseness of voice, hair fall, dry skin, brittle nails could all be attributed to presence of nodule and thyroid hormone imbalance.
More invasive tests are definitely required to rule out any malignancy. So please follow the investigations advised by your consultant surgeon.
