Ultrasound Showed Remaining Pregnancy Tissue After Missed Miscarriage And D&C, No Bleeding With Misoprostol. Suggest
Hi. I had a missed miscarriage at twelve weeks. The baby had died at about nine weeks. I had a d&c, but three weeks later on an ultrasound, pregnancy tissue was still remaining. I was given misprostol orally and vaginally - I experienced no bleeding. The ultrasound two weeks after administration showed that all of the tissue remained. I was administered another full misoprostol dose (2 oral, 4 vaginally, then 2x2 orally three hours apart. That was three days ago and I am still not bleeding. I'm at a loss of what to do. Apparently the pregnancy tissue is at the top of my womb.... Any suggestions please or reasons why this may be the case? Thank you x
Do not worry, as this is encountered in some women. If the misoprostol does not help in expelling the contents of conception, then a D&C (dilatation and curettage) would be advised. Please be patient and visit your doctor on the advised follow-up date.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
