Unable To Concentrate Due To Drinking. Is This Normal?

I over drank this past Saturday and find it difficult to concentrate and had episodes of anxiety and panic, which have now decreased significantly. I still feel cloudy and uninterested in activity. I did black out that day and have trouble remembering exactly what happened. Will these symptoms clear up in the next few days and is this normal or should I seek help?

Hi,

The anxiety and panic that you suffered was due to withdrawal from alcohol, which is common after binge drinking. Your present symptoms are most likely due to withdrawal only and can be expected to go away in the next few days, provided you keep away from alcohol for some time. However, if you do not see an improvement in the next few days, then you should seek help as sometimes, a depressive episode starts in alcohol withdrawal and can cause loss of interest and inability to concentrate.

Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
