Unable To Walk, Knees Swollen, Painful. Diagnosed With Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus. Treatment?
my daughter is looking for a rheumatologist near Russellville Ar. She has something wrong with her joints, today she can hardly walk because her knees are so swollen and painful, and not from excessive standing, walking or just being on them, This has been going on for some time, can hardly sleep at night and doing anything is very painful. She is 52 years of age. she was diagnosed with ra and lupus in 2006, was sent to UAMS but never tested positive again for ra, so has never gotten any treatment. Can you help us find a rheumatologist. Almost all lupus patients will have problems with their musculoskeletal system, and some will go on to develop arthritis. Among the most commonly affected joints are those in the fingers, hands, wrists and knees. During a severe flare-up of lupus there will usually be pain and swelling all over the body, affecting muscles, ligaments and joints.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (commonly known as NSAIDS) for inflammation in the joints and tendons.
Preventing regular flare-ups of lupus are to get plenty of rest and to avoid stress as much as possible. It is also important to avoid stressful situations.
