Undergone Knee Arthroscopy, Tender And Large Lump Under One Of Incisions. Is It Scar Tissue? Suggestions?
Hi there just over two weeks ago I had a knee arthroscopy to remove a small amount of meniscus cartilage. Physio is going well however under one of the incisions there is a large lump which is tender and causing some dis comfort. I've been reading that this could be scar tissue. Could I have your thoughts please and any action that I may need to carry out?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The large and tender lump under the line of incision is likely to be due to a local bleeding in the area causing hematoma formation. This is not related to a scar tissue in the area. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
